When termites are found inside a building there is a definite advantage in trying to destroy the termite colony that is responsible for the attack. All Care Pest Control are particularly skilled at termite dusting using Termidor Termiticide Dust.
This is a very low toxicity product that when applied correctly to live termites it can be taken back to the nest which it then contaminates as the product is transferred from termite to termite by the exchange of food or by termite grooming which occurs naturally when termites clean each other. There are variables involved in this work such as the number of termites that a treated, the size of the nest etc. and therefore it is not 100 percent successful each time, but if done properly it can provide up to a 70% or 80% success rate in which the colony is completely destroyed.
Termites are always present on the Gold Coast. No method of termite control is 100 percent successful all of the time and therefore termite dusting is especially useful when done in conjunction with a soil chemical treatment (termite barrier) or termite baiting program.
Nevertheless, as termite dusting is far less expensive than these other management systems is well worth doing. We always point out to our customers that termite queens can live for up to 50 years and therefore even if a termite barrier was installed to protect the home, and the property would become vulnerable again as the chemical life deteriorates.
No matter what forms of termite control they used, regular inspections are still essential and every property owners should arrange to have these done at least on an annual basis as recommended by government authorities and Australian Standards.
