Pest Information and Treatment
There are numerous types of pests that exist within our environment and many treatment options are available. Ideally we want to keep as many of them away from our homes or commercial businesses as we can.
Some pests are more prevalent on the Gold Coast due to our tropical climate and other factors.
Pests that are commonly found on the Gold Coast include:

Cockroaches
There are more than 3,500 species of cockroach. The most common varieties found on the Gold Coast include the German, American and Oriental cockroaches.
Cockroach problems are more common during the warmer months of October through to April but can still be found in and around the home or office all year round.
It is believed that cockroaches can spread a number of diseases to humans including salmonella and gastroenteritis. Some studies have shown that cockroaches can also cause allergies.
A cockroach infestation can be treated with a general pest spray. All Care can identify the type, cause and extent of the infestation. It is important that all hidden areas such as in the ceiling and wall cavities are sprayed correctly or the roaches will return swiftly.
Fleas
Fleas are a common problem on the Gold Coast and thoughout Australia. They feed off the blood of humans and animals such as dogs and cats. They are known to spread diseases including tapeworm and occasionally typhus.
There are three main species of flea that infest humans:
- Cat flea
- Dog flea
- Human flea
The cat and dog flea are common in Australia. A flea bite is intensely itchy and secondary infections caused by scratching are common. Fleas can often be left behind in a house where pets have lived inside and can be found in carpet and other general areas.
Fleas can be eradicated by All Care providing a general flea spray. It is also recommended that household pets are given an anti-flea treatment to help minimise the chance of fleas returning.
Redback Spiders
Redbacks are common on the Gold Coast. Mature female redbacks are jet black spiders with a variable red stripe on their back and are easily identifiable. Immature females are smaller, usually brown with whitish markings.
Their webs are usually near the ground, often hiding under or behind objects which can cause danger for unsuspecting adults, children or household pets. Whilst redback spiders aren’t generally aggressive most contact comes accidentally when we attempt to pick up an object that may have a redback hiding on or inside of.
Redbacks must be treated with respect. Their bite is poisonous and can be fatal for children, elderly people and family pets. If you are bitten by a redback you should seek immediate medical attention.
Redback spiders need to be managed with regular spraying. All Care can suggest the most appropriate management plan for your particular situation.
Ants
Ants are a common and often frustrating problem. After spraying a line of ants in one place another line will develop just as quickly. A small crumb of food or drink residue that is almost invisible to humans can provide a substantial meal to numerous ants. Whilst a household bug spray will kill an ant quickly the ants will swiftly return once the spray residue has disappeared.

Rats & Mice
Rats and mice have adapted to survive and thrive around humans and their pets. Pest Control Treatment Options
The treatment of the house for general pests such as cockroaches, spiders, silverfish, and ants will involve spraying in the inside with a low toxicity and low irritancy product that provides long term control. Kitchen cupboards are treated by the application of small amounts of bait that usually eliminate the need for the client to get their crockery and food items out of their kitchen cupboards.

Where there is a space in the roof we treat the roof by fogging it with a small amount of low toxicity powder.
